Want some recovering, not too expensive holidays but still a dreamy destination. I suggest you to travel to Sardinia.

First of all, I advise you to rent a car. At first, we didn't think we would rent one, the shuttle being expensive, we decided to rent a car. But we didn't regret it and we realized that without a car it would have been complicated.

By using the website www.rentalcars.com, you will be able to compare the prices of the different rental agencies. We decided to travel with SicilybyCar (funny we were in Sardinia haha). Everything went well, they were effective and we didn't have any problems.

So we arrived on August 27th on the spot around noon, we picked up the car and drove to our hotel. Noam (@chicononoco) drove all the way because we had only one driver.

La Ciaccia

After about 1h30 drive from Olbia airport, we arrived in La Ciaccia, a small village very nice but a bit lost. -> For more information about our apartment.

To avoid wasting a minute of our stay, we spent the rest of the day at the beach next to the hotel and stayed until sunset. Didn’t miss it ! Especially me that is a huge fan of thw wonderful effect that the sun leaves at sunset.

Watch more sunsets than nextflix

La Pelosa

What if we linked up tourism and beach ? I suggest La Pelosa, a magnificent beach but really crowded even at the end of August. To avoid crowding ourselves into the crowd, we put our things on the rocks and went swimming. Frankly, a little advice that is valid on many of the Sardinian beaches, especially if you go into the water from the rocks. Take some little water shoes, do you think that's ridiculous? Maybe, but everyone wears them and I wish I had one sometimes.

Spiaggia Ezzi Mannu

On the way back, we stopped at the "Spiaggia Ezzi Mannu", this beach is less known but it is also beautiful. These small white stones and its water with beautiful blue tones. It's worth a visit.

Costa Paradiso

Already the 3rd day arrives on the island, for that day we headed to Costa Paradiso, a place that we had been recommended and that was only 40 minutes from our accommodation.

It's a beautiful area, we went to a part of the coast where there were no beaches, only rocks, but it was really beautiful. You can of course stay and chill, but to tan it is not very comfortable on the rocks and you will burn easily with the heat ! I don't know the exact name of this place but I think it is "Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola".

La Maddalena

La Maddalena is a small island accessible by boat from Palau. It is a very well-known place in Sardinia, again it is very beautiful. We took the ferry with the car to get on the island. Then, not really knowing which beach to go to, we chose one randomly and found ourselves at the Spiaggia di Cala Garibaldi. It is located on Caprera Island, which is connected to La Maddalena.

We paid 55 € for two people plus the car for the trip by ferry to La Maddalena. You will find, below, a map with the departure times of the ferry.

Spiaggia Portisco

For our last day on the island, we decided to go to the Costa Smeralda. Do not look for this place as a beach, it is not the name of a beach but the name of the coast. So we came across Spiaggia Portisco, a small and nice beach.

The day was covered at times but we were able to enjoy the beach. We must admit that we had a beach holiday and not a tourist discovery of the island but that was the goal, rest before school and work starts.

6th day, the departure. Wake up at 6am to get to the airport. We fill up, give the car back and go away. And the galleys are starting, of course I'm not leaving from anywhere without a small dose of KARMA. We are queuing up for the luggage and see that the line for safety is long... very very long. So we head into line and suddenly the billboard announces "Boarding" on our flight, of course we haven't passed security yet. BIG Stress, do you think we got our plane? Well fortunately yes, thank you for the slow boarding....

I recommend Sardinia as a destination. This island is beautiful and so are these beaches. Who said you had to go to the other side of the world to see clear, turquoise waters?
